Simplifying property search in Bali’s underserved digital market

The task was straightforward: to quickly launch a user-friendly service for searching, listing, buying, selling, and long-term renting of housing on the digitally underserved yet rapidly growing Bali market. The market lacked a specialized platform for convenient real estate search, with no structured directory, no filters to select necessary parameters, no map view, and an abundance of irrelevant ads. According to a survey, 82% of respondents currently look for long-term rentals through Telegram channels and Facebook groups.

Since we were aiming for a quick launch, we had to postpone user communication methods within the platform and other functionalities to future sprints.

In our MVP, we provided users with a convenient and efficient property search experience tailored to the Bali market. The platform offers multiple filter criteria to refine searches, allowing users to find exactly what they need quickly. Properties can be explored directly on an interactive map, enhancing spatial awareness. Users can post ads using a simple typeform format, with the option to hide the exact address by marking a general area for privacy. To ensure quality, the system monitors the relevance of advertisements, removing outdated or inactive listings. The interface is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, making navigation effortless. Additionally, we included a brief overview of nearby amenities and useful information about the area, helping users make informed decisions about potential places to live
